The Journal
The Journal of Corporate and Financial Laws is the newly-launched flagship commercial law journal of the Centre for Corporate Law, Governance and Financial Laws at NLU Delhi.
The Journal intends to serve as a source of cutting-edge contemporary discourse on issues relevant to the areas of corporate and commercial laws, by publishing high-quality articles authored by students, academicians and practitioners.
The focus of the publication is on the latest developments in commercial law, ensuring relevance to contemporary legal and financial challenges, so as to encourage critical analysis, reform proposals and comparative studies that contribute to the evolution of business law in India and globally.
All submissions are subjected to a three-tier double-blind peer review process. The full process, together with the manuscript requirements, is set out in the submission guidelines.
The Journal is Open Access. Everything it publishes is freely available to read, download and cite, without subscription or paywall, and no charge of any kind is made to authors.
Institution
The Centre
The Centre for Corporate Laws, Governance and Financial Laws (CCLGFL) at National Law University Delhi (NLUD) was reconstituted in 2025 as the successor to the Centre for Business and Financial Laws and the Centre for Corporate Governance. Building on the work of these two centres, CCLGFL’s mandate has been expanded to encompass developments in corporate law, corporate governance and financial laws. It promotes rigorous research, scholarship, and informed dialogue on legal, regulatory, and policy issues affecting businesses, financial markets, and corporate institutions. It seeks to deepen understanding of the legal and institutional frameworks governing modern businesses and financial systems. It also aims to serve as a think tank to strengthen the robustness and soundness of the corporate sector.
The Centre undertakes a range of academic and policy-oriented initiatives, including round-table conferences and discussions with policymakers, regulators, practitioners and other stakeholders. This facilitates meaningful exchange between academia and practice and contributes to contemporary legal and regulatory discourse. For the CCLGFL Blog and Journal, the Centre invites submissions from students, academicians and practitioners on contemporary issues relating to corporate law, corporate governance, securities and financial laws, mergers and acquisitions, insolvency and restructuring, corporate finance, and other allied areas that further the objectives of the Centre.
