Journal of Corporate and Financial Laws

The Journal accepts articles dealing with the themes and areas of law set out below, under the broad umbrella of corporate and commercial laws.

These word limits are exclusive of footnotes and merely indicative. Speaking footnotes are discouraged. The Editorial Board retains discretion with regard to flexibility in word limit.

Manuscript guidelines

• Submissions must not be descriptive in nature. The author(s) must ensure that the submission is critically evaluative while contributing to the existing literature and jurisprudence on the subject matter.
• Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
• Co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two individuals. This limit may be relaxed at the discretion of the Editorial Board on a case-by-case basis.
• The manuscript must be A-4 size, with 1-inch margins on all four sides.

Main text: Times New Roman, 12 point, 1.15 line spacing, justified.

Internal headings must follow this format:

• First-level headings numbered I, II and so on
• Second-level headings numbered A, B and so on
• Third-level headings numbered (i), (ii) and so on

Footnotes: Times New Roman, 10 point, 1.0 line spacing, left aligned.

• All references shall be made using footnotes. Endnotes and in-text citations are strictly prohibited. Submissions must conform to the Bluebook, 20th edition. It is advisable to use Supreme Court Cases (SCC) or All India Reporter (AIR) citations when referencing case law.
• Submissions must include an abstract of not more than 300 words, and five keywords capturing the theme of the submission.
• All submissions are mandatorily checked for AI and plagiarised content. Submissions exceeding the 15% limit, for AI and plagiarism, will be summarily rejected.
• Submissions shall be the original work of the author(s), and must not be previously published or under consideration elsewhere.
• The manuscript must not contain any identifying information, such as the author(s)' name, institutional affiliation, contact details, or any other personal details.
• The author(s) bear full responsibility for the accuracy of all facts and information presented in the submission.

Editorial policy

All submissions are subjected to a three-tier double-blind peer review process, to ensure high academic and editorial standards.

Tier 1 — Preliminary Screening. An initial assessment is undertaken to determine at the outset whether the submission falls within the mandate of the Journal and complies with the submission guidelines and the plagiarism and AI policy. At this stage the Editorial Board preliminarily assesses and screens manuscripts on their substantive content and the relevance of the topic.

Tier 2 — Detailed Substantive and Stylistic Review. The Editorial Board undertakes a comprehensive evaluation of manuscripts, assessing factors including but not limited to originality, coherence, footnotes, structure and clarity of arguments. Manuscripts may be sent back for incorporation of suggestions and changes at this stage. Final acceptance is contingent on the satisfaction of the Editorial Board with the incorporation of the suggestions provided.

Tier 3 — Review by the Faculty Editor-in-Chief and the Student Editor-in-Chief. At the final stage, manuscripts are reviewed by the Student Editor-in-Chief followed by the Faculty Editor-in-Chief, after which they may be accepted, rejected, or sent back with suggested changes.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject a manuscript at any stage until final acceptance has been communicated to the author(s).

Submission procedure

• Submissions must be made through the Journal's Google Form only. Submissions made in any other form shall not be accepted.
• The document name must be in the following format: [Full Name of the Author(s)]_[Title of Submission].

Volume I has been published. Submissions for Volume II are not yet open; the call for papers, including the submission form and the deadline, will be announced here.
